Born to be Dhobi

The laundry workers of India are called dhobis.  They are born into this profession.  Dhobis have no formal education and are taught this trade by their parents and grandparents.  Those performing this service are often called the “untouchables” and they are considered to be below the lowest of the four castes.  These public laundries provide door-to-door service and will pick-up, wash, iron, and return your impressively cleaned laundry to your home in about a week’s time.  Notice how white the whites are.
